PRODUCT SPECIFICATION SHEET

Turmeric fingers are the root rhizomes of the turmeric plant, a flowering herb belonging to the family of Zingiberaceae.

Turmeric is native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. The rhizomes are collected every year. They are either used as it is or boiled in water and dried. They are then powdered into an orange-yellow powder.

Turmeric is one of nature’s most special gifts. This magnificent spice not just makes your food get a unique taste, but is also one of the best natural medicines in the world.

Turmeric fingers have been used for centuries in various cultures for their culinary, medicinal, and cosmetic properties.

In India, turmeric is known for its antiseptic and healing properties. Turmeric rhizome is used as a culinary spice, botanical colorant, natural dye, herbal cosmetic, and traditional medicine. The active compound responsible for turmeric’s bright color and potential health benefits is curcumin. This compound is recognized for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The turmeric finger is the purest form of turmeric and is used in medicines, food and dyeing processes. The product is sourced from the farmers who grow the crop in natural and organic manner. Turmeric powder is made from turmeric fingers.

In culinary applications, turmeric fingers are a staple in many cuisines around the world. They impart a warm, earthy flavor and distinctive yellow hue to dishes. Turmeric is commonly used in curries, stews, sauces, and rice dishes, not only for its flavor but also for its potential health benefits.

Medicinally, turmeric fingers have a long history of use in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. They are believed to support digestion, promote a healthy inflammatory response, and offer potential benefits for joint health.
